Nicky Konings

“Making People And Objects Special”. That is my life wire and my artistic mission.

Started as a make up artist in the world of theatre, television and film, I followed my passion and took the long and bumpy road to visual arts. Years of education in material science and numerous training sessions and workshops with internationally known artists helped me finding my direction in terms of materials, shapes, colours and influences.

Ceramic is often, but not exclusively, used in my work in combination with challenging materials such as old and precious metals and textiles. Bright colours used on white chamotte clay support me in expressing my intense connection with the Nomads and countries like Nepal, Tibet, Africa and Morocco. My work is recognised as exciting, suprising and original.

Next to my devotion to creating art I am teaching visual arts and conduct workshops at international academies and cultural events. Also I conduct lessions to private individuals and small groups at my studio in The Hague – Netherlands.
